Thomas Charles Pullinger travelled to the United States, on board the Columbia to New York, to observe car factory design and the mass production methods in Detroit.

Thomas’ mother (Dorothee’s grandmother), Marianne Willis, died at 54 High Street, Paisley and is buried in Woodside Cemetery, Paisley, compartment 37, lair 362. 54 High street. 54 High Street was (later number 78 after the renumbering of streets in 1923) one of a pair of older houses that remained after other buildings were demolished, between tenements and an art deco ABC cinema, all now demolished and the site of the present University of the West of Scotland.
